Ask Tiffani
Salsa and Mambo are more than just dances, they
are a lifestyle and just as in life, there are many
questions to be answered. If there is something
you would like to know about or if you need
advice on anything salsa-related, I encourage you
to send me an email. The answers will be sent
back to you and posted here to help others as well
- your name will not be posted with the question.

Q: What is a Congress?
A: A Salsa Congress is like a Salsero's paradise! It's a large event
where Salsa dancers come together to share their love of the
dance and the music. They are held all over the world. Most
Congresses last an entire weekend and are held at a large hotel.
There are workshops during the day from instructors from all over.
Then at night, there are great performances followed by hours of
social dancing for everyone. Sometimes there may be a live band
playing or DJ from various cities. It's a great way to dance with
different people and really test out your lead and follow skills! It's
also fun to just sit and watch some of the best dancers and learn
some new moves! It can seem expensive at first, but the
experience is worth it...plus, most Congresses have options on
various packages, such as a 'night pass' or a 'full day' pass, so you
can try it out for a day without having to buy the full package deal.
